Warrap State bans shisha

SHISHA BOTTLES BEING DESTROYED IN KUACJOKAuthorities in Warrap State have banned the smoking of shisha in a bid to get rid of idlers and curb the crime rate in the state capital Kuajok.

The ban comes following reports that shisha smokers mix the substance with marijuana, also known as bhangi. Opponents to the practice believe it leads to immoral behaviour and an increase in crime.

Deputy Governor Akec Tong Aleu announced the ban on shisha last month and ordered security agents to keep watch on illegal dealers.

Following his order, law enforcement officials seized and destroyed more than 400 bottles used for smoking shisha.
