The Voluntary return of the Ngok-Dinka IDPs started on Friday from Khartoum's Jebel Awlia area heading to Abyei under supervision of Abyei Administration.
The Secretary of Information of the voluntary return committee, Yohanna Akol Muor, said that the first batch of the repatriation comprise of more than 1,200 displaced persons, pointing out that many people are turning up to register for the repatriation.
Mou told Radio Miraya that the Governor of South Kordofan has pledged to provide necessary security to the convoy transporting the IDPs throughout the trip from south Kordofan to Abyei. He affirmed that Abyei Administration and other humanitarian organizations promised to provide basic services to the returnees.
