Order issued to screen private clinics

The Deputy Minister of the Interior, Salva Mathok, has issued a public order directing the police to screen all private clinics in the country.

The directive, which takes immediate effect, instructs the police to check the licenses and certificates of all clinics and also ensure that they are run by qualified staff.

Mathok, told Radio Miraya that the police will also verify whether the clinics have licenses to run pharmacies, alongside their clinics.

Mathok, says this comes as a result of complaints from the public that the private clinics are too expensive and sometimes mis-diagnose their patients.
