(September 8, 2013) - A delegation of South Sudanese Police headed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pieng Deng Kuol has left for Algeria to participate in an conference for leaders of African police forces.
The meeting, which is the first of its kind, is an initiative of the African Union to establish a single police body for Africa.
Speaking to Radio Miraya, Police Spokesman Col. James Monday Enoka said the trip would help to combat crimes across Africa.
"All the police chiefs in Africa are meeting together to explore the possibility of constituting an Afro Police body that will be a more wide ranging police organization at the African level." Mr Enoka said.
"Interactions and exchange of crime information and extraditions of criminals will really be much easier," he said.
